BABINET GILLES

A self-taught expert in new technologies and societal challenges, Gilles Babinet has been an entrepreneur since he was 22. He has founded numerous companies in a range of sectors, including consultancy (Absolut, Laitao), construction (Escalade Industrie), mobile music (Musiwave), co-creation (eYeka) and decision-making tools (Captain Dash). Gilles Babinet has become a key figure in the French and European digital landscapes, with an ever-evolving wealth of responsibilities. He is Co-president of the Conseil National du Numérique, with which he launched, in particular, the AI Café initiative. He is also the French Digital Champion with the European Commission and a member of the AI Committee established by Élisabeth Borne in late 2023, whose report was submitted to the President of France. A lecturer at the HEC Business School and author of a number of books, including How Hippies, God, and Science Invented the Internet and his latest work, Green AI – How artificial intelligence can benefit the climate, published in March 2024, he advises organisations on digital transformation and the internal artificial intelligence policies to adopt.
