A graduate of the École Polytechnique, with a PhD in cryptology and a degree in weapons engineering, Guillaume Poupard has worked for the French Prime Minister and Ministry of Defence, where he specialised in cybersecurity and cyber-defence. As Director General of the French cybersecurity agency (ANSSI), between 2014 and 2022, Guillaume led the national strategy for reinforcing the digital resilience of public institutions and critical infrastructures. He also played a role in asserting France’s cybersecurity leadership on a European and international scale, by promoting a harmonised European response to cyber threats and bringing together ecosystems of public and private actors around cybersecurity issues.

He is now pursuing his career as Chief Trust Officer at the Orange group, helping run the “Trust the Future” strategic plan and promoting digital trust. In parallel, he co-chairs the Council for AI and Digital Technology, responsible for advising the French government on these issues.
